Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide the student with basic knowledge and skills for the management of the production process with regard to the development of production management in the world of globalized production, mastering the modern techniques and methods for the design and operation of manufacturing systems. After completing the course, the student will be able to apply the theoretical knowledge when making decisions about the production programme, the provision of sources for its realization from the view of material resources, capacity resources, time boundary and cost-efficiency and performance of production processes, production systems and production results. Production is the process of transforming raw materials and semi-finished products within the company into a product demanded by the surroundings of the company. In the lectures, the students will get familiar with the forms and types of production and the basics of production process control from an economic and managerial perspective, then with the fundamentals of operational management of production, lean production, push and pull production system or standardization of production preparation, quality control in the production process, etc. In the exercises, the students will gain practical knowledge and skills of production management, including the planning and preparation of discontinuous production, calculation of production costs, decision-making in the operational production management.
