- Cíle předmětu
- The course focuses on the introduction to the functioning of the European Union. The course covers the historical development of the European Communities and European Union, its institutions and Treaties, principle of supremacy of EC law, division of competences between European Union and Member States and the judicial system. The course focuses on selected forms of economic integration and four freedoms of the Internal market.

- Historical development of European integration: From the European Communities to the European Union.
- Institutions of the European Union: Composition, powers, and functions.
- The EU Treaties and Primacy of EU law: Principles of direct applicability and direct effect.
- General principles of EU law: Structure, sources, and hierarchy of legal norms.
- Secondary law of the European Union: Regulations, Directives, and other legal acts.
- Division of competences between the European Union and the Member States.
- Judicial system of the EU I: Direct actions before the CJEU (infringement proceedings, actions for annulment, failure to act).
- Judicial system of the EU II: The preliminary ruling procedure (Article 267 TFEU).
- Economic integration: Customs union, common market, and the internal/single market.
- The Four Freedoms I: Free movement of goods and free movement of persons (workers and EU citizens).
- The Four Freedoms II: Free movement of services, right of establishment, and free movement of capital.
- The Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU: External relations and association agreements.
