The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The objective of the course is to acquaint students with difficulties of university studies and provide effective ways to overcome them. Students get acquainted with specificities of university studies and the environment of the college they study at. They learn to work with sources of information, identify information and resolve its content with respect to its originator, they learn how to refer correctly to the sources used. During teamwork activities realised mainly at the adaptation course, the students develop their teamwork skills, creative thinking, and communication skills.
Syllabus
  • 1. Tertiary education in the Czech Republic, the position of MVSO in the education system; mission, vision, and organisational structure of MVSO.
  • 2. Studies at the college (basic forms of teaching, ways of course assessment, credit system, final state exams and graduation)
  • 3. Academic degrees – awarding, ways of proper addressing at campus.
  • 4. Possibilities of studying abroad
  • 5. Project-oriented teaching focused on CSR projects
  • 6. Course assignment as one of the key forms of knowledge and skills verification. Plagiarism, citation and citation norm, literature processing, literature research.
  • 7. Communication at the college (basic division of communication, features of communication)
  • 8. Teamwork. Adaptation course.
