Course objectives
Water Resources, Abstraction, Storage and Pumping The aim of the tutorial Water resources, abstraction, storage and pumping of water is familiarization with the ways of the vertical collecting of groundwater, types of wells according to the purpose, function, hydrogeological conditions and methods of construction. In the section of horizontal abstraction of groundwater will be described horizontal abstraction cuttings and gallery, in the section combined mode of abstraction of groundwater will be described radial wells. There will be explained abstraction objects in flowing and stagnant waters, artificial augmentation of groundwater stocks and protection of water resources. In the section water pumping a division of pumps will be discussed, the choice of pump type, working pump characteristic, a pipeline characteristic, the operating point of the pump, working area of two pumps, hydrophor station and equipment of petrol stations. In the chapter water storage will be explained the purpose of water reservoirs, types of reservoirs according to their purpose, situational and high-rise location of reservoirs and determination of the volume of reservoir in graphical and numerical way. There will be presented the different reservoir types according to construction and equipment of reservoirs.
