Course objectives
The aim of the subject English 1-A2 is to refresh and deepen basic students' English language skills and English use abilities and at the same time to link the skills and abilities, so that the students will be prepared to extend them to the area of business English.

  • Word order in questions ( W questions ?)
    b) Present continuous versus present simple
    c) Classroom language
    d) Family and personal adjectives ( describing yourself and your relatives)
    2. a) Prepositions of place (behind, between, in front of ?)
    b) At the airport ( check in, ?)
    c) Going on holidays and different means of transport + advantages and disadvantages
    3. a) Past simple - regular and irregular verbs
    b) Past continuous - introduction and usage
    c) Past simple versus past continuous
    d) Prepositions of time and place ( at, on, in )
    4. a) So, because , but and although and their position in sentence and difference in meaning
    b) At the conference hotel - useful vocabulary building
    c) Describing a photo and creating a story - using present and past tense
    5. Revision - vocabulary, grammar, social English, reading and comp. check

Written form - final and progress test: testing knowledge of vocabulary, language structures and grammatical features.
Oral form - final oral examination: Students must prove to be able to react correctly in situations based on the covered topics and to react on questions of the examiner.
