- Course objectives
- The course focuses on understanding the behaviour of the economy as a whole and illustrates how the current economic theory addresses the key problems of the economy. The aim is to introduce the economy of the Czech Republic to students, teach them to use macroeconomic concepts and understand performance indicators. After completing the course, students can define state economic policy, analyse both fiscal and monetary policies, consider the consequences of macroeconomic disbalances (inflation and unemployment), evaluate the present economic problems, analyse the economic development of the Czech Republic and evaluate its strengths and weaknesses.

- 4. Aggregate demand, aggregate supply and potential output.
- 5. Economic cycles and economic growth.
- 6. Fiscal policy, state budget.
- 7. Monetary market equilibrium and monetary policy.
- 8. Economic policy effects and impacts.
- 9. Macroeconomic imbalances – unemployment.
- 10. Macroeconomic imbalances – inflation.
- 11. Exchange rate, international trade and exchange.
