Course objectives (in Czech)
The aim of the Advanced Macroeconomics course is to provide students with new analytically justified observations that expand and broaden their knowledge acquainted from the study of the Macroeconomics elementary course. This guarantees more accurate orientation in the theoretical foundation of the course and a higher level of understanding of the meaning as well as the general level and the outcomes of the study of the other economic and non-economic courses in the individual specialties.

The deeper analysis of the equal production determinant and the IS-LM model is to strengthen the understanding of the importance of economic theories for the shaping of the effective economic policy at the state and regional levels. The explanation behind the microeconomic foundation of the aggregate demand and the aggregate supply is to lay a solid fundamental understanding of the AD-AS model significance and further on for the clarification of the macroeconomic variables fluctuation (unemployment, inflation). Special emphasis will be put on long-term economic growth problems as the outcome of the analysis of economic growth and regional-level development. The purpose of the theoretical outcome analysis and its application to economic practice is to form the skills of the macroeconomic analysis in the context of the economic life of society among students and to provide the prediction of future development. The aim is also to help in creating abilities and skills for effective economic thinking, behaviour, and decision-making.

  • 3. IS-LM model, fiscal and monetary policy (part II). The efficiency of the fiscal and monetary policy.
  • 4. Open economy and the determination of the equal production (part I). – introduction into the analysis.
  • 5. Open economy and the determination of the equal production (part II). – basic problems of the exchange rate determination.
  • 6. Aggregate demand and aggregate supply.
  • 7. Aggregate Demand and Aggregate Supply: Short-term and Long-term Effects of Fiscal Policy, New Theoretical Approaches.
  • 8. Labour market: aggregate labour demand and aggregate labour supply.
  • 9. Labour market, unemployment, and Phillips curve.
  • 10.Inflation and the growth of the economy.

Teaching methods (in Czech)
During the lectures and seminars are used the information-receptive method, verbal methods (description, explanation), PowerPoint presentations, illustrative demonstration methods (graphic and schematic images, dynamic projection), heuristic method, and case methods.
Assessment methods (in Czech)
Zápočet: aktivní účast na cvičeních, splnění průběžných testů, zápočtový test.
Zkouška: ústní.
