Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The foundation and introduction to the study of problems of different areas of management, which implies further development in special disciplines of the study program of individual branches. The aim is to explain through 12 lessons in the form of two-hour lectures basic concepts, development and ideas about management (introduction), and the nature of managerial approaches to planning, organization and method of operation, the nature and function as a basis for decision-making manager's job, leadership in governance as a way to access to management and management control. Focused on three approaches - strategic management, crisis management, change management and innovation, human resource management (personnel management), time management, operational and process management. During the exercises, the emphasis is on training approach and key management skills, assessment skills and capabilities of students selected diagnostic tests - all with regard to the practice in enterprises and institutions and the requirements of the process and outcomes

  • Syllabus of lectures:
    1. Introduction to Management
    - The concept of management, concept development management, management - science, theory, practice, development of management XX. Century, management yesterday and today, the development of management theory, leaders, management and managers.
    2. Planning
    - The essence and meaning, foundations, functions, tools, and techniques of planning, business plan, production plan and inventory management.
    3. Organization
    - Functions, organizational design, organizational structure, substance, creating organizational units, types of organizational structures and their breakdown, increase organizational performance, the identity of the organization, restructuring and revitalization.
    4. Deciding
    - Decision-making - the nature of managerial work, managerial decision making, information management decision-making, decision-making through committees and groups.
    5. Management
    - Management and leadership, role manager, managerial career, the nature of management and leadership, managerial behavior and effectiveness, organizational development and managerial effectiveness.
    6. Checking
    - Management control system and process monitoring, principles of control, inspection techniques.
    7. Operational Management
    - Operational management, value chain management.
    8. Communicating
    - Communication and transmission of information, communication style, communication skills, negotiation.
    9. Human Resources Management
    - Management of human resources, employee selection, basic behavioral profile manager, managerial career.
    10. Time Management
    - Time Management, Time Management and executive bodies of management, self-management.
    11. Strategic Management
    - Strategic management, organizational goals, strategies, tactics and planning assumptions typology of strategies.
    12. Business
    - Business plan, the path to a successful enterprise.
    13. Competition
    - Competition and competitiveness, Porter's model of competitive forces.

Teacher's information
For credit: Presentation of Actual News (PowerPoint), seminar work (personal career plan), presentation of assigned case studies, min. 75% participation in exercises to achieve min. 60 points
For the test: Developing Time Management 1 working day processing reflection from reading selected books, drawing two essays in the range of 10 seconds on the chosen topic of the lectures (13), oral exam - 2 questions of the subject.
