Course objectives
A loose continuation of the course XAKO. The aim of the course English Conversation is to renew and deepen basic students' knowledge and skills in the use of the English language and at the same time also unify students' knowledge and skills so that they are ready for its development in the area of the business English. The content of the course English Conversation involves revision and extension of vocabulary and knowledge of English grammar with an emphasis on practical application in normal social conversational situations in which students may find themselves in private and especially in working life.
Syllabus
  1. Cinema – TV, Films, and Genres (Passive voice in all tenses)
  2. First Impressions, Appearance (Modal verbs of deduction – might, can’t, must)
  3. Education (First conditional and future time clauses – when, until, etc.)
  4. Housing (Second conditional)
  5. Jobs (Gerunds and infinitives)
  6. Shopping (Reported speech – statements and questions)
  7. Lucky Encounters (Third conditional; adjectives and adverbs)
  8. Digital Detox (Quantifiers)
  9. Idols and Icons (Relative clauses; compound nouns)
  10. Crime and Punishment (Question tags)
  11. Revision of Topics Covered During the Course (Vocabulary and grammar)
