V originále

Legislative changes within the circular economy package, initiated by the European Union and in the process of incorporation into the legislation of the Czech Republic, lead to a ban on landfill after 2024. More precisely, these changes lead to a significant reduction of landfill, with tons of landfilled waste. The aim of the changes is to reduce the landfilling of municipal waste to a maximum of 10% in 2035, to prohibit landfilling of recoverable waste (mixed municipal waste) and to increase the recycling of municipal waste to a level of min. 65% in 2035. The municipalities must respond to these changes in such a way that the costs of processing waste from public sources are not passed on or by increasing the legal fees of citizens for the processing of municipal waste. The project is unique with its technology and principle of waste sorting in the Czech Republic. The uniqueness of the project is also defined on the condition that this project, which is captured in the contribution, is purely a project of municipalities, ie cities, municipalities, unions, and companies owned by the municipality. During the project work, there was an interaction between leading experts in this field within Europe. Examples include construction and related project management of sorting lines in Spain, Norway, and Poland. These countries are among the leading project management experts in the field of sorting lines processing mixed municipal waste and other types of waste (bulk, plastic, foil, etc.). This paper deals with the basic project management of the construction of a modern municipal waste sorting facility. The result of the paper is a description of individual project activities during project implementation.
