Abstract
In the original language
In an era characterized by globalization, digital transformation, and increasing complexity in health systems, higher education institutions are required to prepare students with adaptive thinking, global competence, and problem-solving skills. Joint international courses have emerged as a key pedagogical approach to fostering these capabilities through multicultural and collaborative learning environments. This study examines how participation in a joint international course contributes to the development of adaptive thinking, global problem-solving skills, intercultural competence, and digital readiness among students in management and health management programs. The research is based on an international hybrid course combining online learning with an intensive international workshop. The study employs a qualitative approach, using students’ reflective journals to analyze their experiences in multicultural teamwork, engagement with global health challenges, and interaction with digital and innovative tools. The findings highlight that participation in joint international learning environments enhances students’ ability to navigate uncertainty, engage in global problem-solving, and develop intercultural and digital competencies. The study also contributes to the literature on internationalization in higher education and offers practical insights for designing educational programs that prepare future professionals for complex, globalized environments.
