The aim of the article is to present the results of research into how the degree of threat to the security of information resources resulting from human factors is perceived by employees of marketing departments at universities in Poland, Ukraine and the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the article lists and describes the most common factors, mentioned in the relevant literature on the subject, stemming from the behaviour, characteristics and competences of employees and affect the security of information management. The empirical part presents the results of research conducted in Poland, Ukraine and the Czech Republic between November 2021 and June 2023 inclusive.
