Abstract
V originále
The provision of health care is becoming one of the largest sectors of the economy in developed countries. For this reason, it is undeniably important to monitor certain indicators in economies for their future development. The amount that countries spend on health care and the rate at which that spending may change over time is influenced by a range of social and economic factors, including the financial and organizational structure of the healthcare system itself and its effectiveness. There is a strong correlation between a country's overall level of income and the amount that country's population spends on health care. The aim of the article is to compare expenses on healthcare in the V4 countries for the period 2016-2020. Among the basic indicators that are compared in this contribution in connection with the given economies is the amount of GDP at the level of absolute value and then a comparison using purchasing power parity (PPP). Other ratio indicators in individual economies, which focus mainly on comparing expenses for health care (total health care expenditure and health care expenditure by function) the following can be stated: percentage of health care expenditure to GDP, euro per capita and PPS purchasing power standard per capita. In connection with the given indicators, individual comparisons are presented in the contribution in the context of the time horizon.
