Abstract
The main goal of the paper is an evaluation of the demographic development, the consumption behaviour of households of retired and inclusion of expected changes to the urban planning in cities. Firstly, the paper is focused on the issue of population ageing and consequences connected with sustainable development issue in the regions and cities, including significant scientific studies in this field. In the methodological part, the Urban Planner Model and its parameters are described. Then the analysis of consumption behaviour of households of retired, based on Expenditure and Consumption of Households statistics is described. In the results part, we present the prediction of the development of retired in the society (age index), possibilities of retirement homes and structure of consumption of households of retired. Using Urban Planner Model, we can select suitable locations for households of retired. As a case study, the possibilities for Olomouc region are described. Finally, we discuss our results and connected consequences to sustainable urban planning.
