Cíle předmětu
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the history of the development of economic analysis, and thereby lay the foundations of economic theory as a theoretical reflection of constantly developing real economic life. The students will get familiarized with the development of economic thought from antiquity to the present. They will be able to discuss and assess the contribution of individual economic trends for the development of economic thought. Great emphasis is placed on acquiring knowledge of the essential differences between the neoclassical economics and Keynesianism and on the summary of the effects of Keynesian theory crisis in the 1970's. An integral part of the course is the explanation of the origin of contemporary theories and the efforts to formulate fundamental differences of economic trends outside the mainstream of economic thought. The origin and development of economic thought until the origin of the classical school. Characteristics of the classical economics and its main leaders. Utopian socialism. Economic school of K. Marx. Neoclassical economics and the causes of its crisis. J. M. Keynes and the development of Keynesianism after World War II. Sources of conservative economics and its main trends. Alternative economic theories (the socialist concepts, J. Schumpeter, institutionalism, etc.). Neo-neo-classical synthesis (P. A. Samuelson, J. Hicks). New classical macroeconomics (R. Lucas).     The lectures which mostly take the form of lectures with discussion, interactive lectures or lectures supported by multimedia, are based in particular on the information-receptive method, verbal methods (description, explanation), the methods of demonstration (graphic and schematic representation, dynamic projection). The exercises are based, in particular, on the interactive dialogue and participatory methods.
