Small and Medium-Sized Business
Small and Medium-Sized Business
The aim of the course is to prepare the student for the managerial job in small and medium-sized enterprises. The students will get familiar with the basic conditions for doing business in the Czech Republic, particularly focused on SMEs in the context of the EU practice. They will also focus on the specifics of running a small and medium-sized enterprise in the Czech Republic discussed not only from the regional development point of view but also compared not to different foreign countries (in the EU as well as overseas). The next part of the course is based on practical examples and case studies and is focused on business activities of SMEs, their perspectives and threats, then on the network nature of business, especially on strategic alliances and clusters. The course also deals with business on the international markets and the internationalization of business activities of SMEs (not only but especially within the EU, logically linked to their status in the Czech Republic).
