Professional Placement within the Study Programme
The professional placement serves to connect theoretical knowledge with practical experience in organisations. Moravian Business College Olomouc (MVSO) offers professionally oriented accredited study programmes, where the Professional Placement (hereinafter “OP”) plays an essential role.
1. Purpose of the Professional Placement (OP):
- acquiring knowledge and experience from business (and other) practice,
- connecting theory with practice,
- experiencing real working life (workplace behaviour, regular schedule, responsibility for tasks, etc.),
- gaining a potential job opportunity (or internship).
2. Expected Conduct during the Placement:
- during the placement, you represent both the university and yourself — polite behaviour, appropriate clothing, and punctuality are essential,
- maintaining confidentiality when working with sensitive data (personal identification numbers, enforcement records, etc.),
- following the instructions of the supervising employee,
- carrying out assigned tasks diligently and responsibly.
3. Framework Placement Plan:
- Bachelor’s students are required to complete 160 hours of placement;
Master’s students are required to complete 120 hours, - complete the placement within the period stated in the OP Agreement,
- continuously record activities for the Timesheet (daily — not weekly summaries),
- after completing the placement, request the OP Report (which includes the Timesheet),
- submit all documents electronically via the MVSO Information System — Submission Folder (within the assigned deadline).
4. What to Do If You Encounter a Problem During the Placement:
- Attention! The organisation where you complete your placement may terminate it (e.g., if duties are not fulfilled),
- attempt to resolve any issues directly at the placement site; if not possible, contact MVSO for assistance.
Additional Information:
- MVSO staff may visit the placement site.
- Submit all documents on time and properly checked.
- In case of issues with the Agreement or other documents, contact MVSO staff immediately.
- The Agreement becomes valid only after being signed by both parties — the university and the organisation.
