Cílem předmětu English Conversation je obnovení a prohloubení základních znalostí a schopností studentů v používání anglického jazyka a současně též sjednocení znalostí a schopností studentů tak, aby byli připraveni na jejich rozšíření v prostředí obchodní angličtiny. Náplní předmětu English Conversation je zopakování a rozšíření slovní zásoby a znalostí v oblasti anglické gramatiky s důrazem na praktické uplatnění v běžných společenských konverzačních situacích, v nichž se studenti mohou ocitnout jak v osobním, tak zejména v pracovním životě.
Syllabus
  • 1. Food and restaurants (Present simple and continuous; Action and non-action verbs; Talking about eating habits).
    2. Sports (Past tenses: simple/continuous/perfect; When you hear the final whistle (paragraph gap - fill); Talking about sports).
    3. Family and personality (Future forms: going to/will/shall; We are family (predictions); Useful language for describing people).
    4. Money (Present perfect and past simple; My life without money (predictions, WH questions, phrasal verbs); Money questionnaire).
    5. Holidays (Strong adjectives; Present perfect continuous).
    6. Transport (Comparatives and superlatives; Race to the sun; A journey from London to France (numbering activities)).
    7. Modern manners - mobile phones (Must, have to, should (obligations); Culture shock).
    8. Judging by appearances - describing people (Must, may, might, can't (deduction); Describing people: look or look like?).
    9. Success and failure (Can, could, be able to (ability and possibility); Never give up (pair work, chart completion)).
    10. Back to school, education (1st conditional and future time clauses + when, until; Talking about education).

    Revision - vocabulary, grammar, social English, reading and comprehension check.

Písemná forma: závěrečný test.
Ústní forma: prokázání komunikačních dovedností studenta ve specifické odborné oblasti na základě pohovoru s vyučujícím.
