Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The aim of the course is to deepen the students' knowledge about corporate finance in the context of financial management of a company and the development of its financial situation, including its financial health and investment possibilities. The students will also learn to evaluate the methods of investment assessment, to evaluate the risks of investments, to understand the issues of financing short-term and long-term business needs and the forms of enterprises integration. Attention is paid also to the knowledge about the functioning of the international monetary system and the impact of external financial factors on the market economy and individual business entities. The student will be also familiar with the terminology used in the context of international finance, including financial markets and documents that are essential for international financial relations. After the course, the students will understand how foreign exchange markets function and how exchange rates are being set. They will also understand the issues related to the balance of payments and international movement of capital. Integral part of the course are case studies and practical examples focused on the assessment of the financial situation of a company including its financial health and on the theoretical and practical assessment of the risk of investments in the course of business activities including the assessment of financial statements. The students will also work on specific practical examples from different companies which will be solved with the use of the software tools most commonly used in business practice.

    The course is based in particular on the information-receptive, reproductive, and participatory methods. The course is practically conducted also with the support of mathematical and statistical methods by means of software products.
