- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to deepen the students' knowledge of the concepts, methods and techniques of descriptive and mathematical statistics, and to get them familiarized with the use of mathematical software for statistical data processing. It will also focus on forming the stochastic way of thinking to create mathematical models applied to economic disciplines.

- 1. The meaning and concept of modern statistics
2. Processing data from sample surveys
3. Point and interval estimation
4. Testing statistical hypotheses
5. Parametric tests
6. Non-parametric tests
7. Regression and correlation analysis
8. Confidence intervals and tests of hypotheses in regression and correlation
9. Statistical comparisons of economic phenomena
10. Indexes and absolute differences as a tool for benchmarking and analyses
11. Presentation of statistical results (verbal description, graphic form)
12. Summary, examples
In the course, the information-receptive methods, methods of problem of interpretation and heuristic methods are mostly used. The seminars are also methodically based on computer-aided teaching and learning methods (math software, online testing students).
