Course objectives
Dear students, - Are you concerned about the problems of saving energy costs? - Do you want to learn to count investments in energy-saving measures? - Do you want to improve your work with Excel? - Do you want to enhance your competitiveness in the labor market and gain valuable certificate Schneider Electric Energy Management? - Do you want to gain financial reward (2-10 thousand CZK) for the top 3 semester work or bachelor thesis? Then take advantage of an optional course XEM2 - Energy management, which is currently opened in the STAG for the graduates - Either XEM1 - The basics of energy management, - Or XMPP1/YMPP1 - Management support processes. - Opened for full-time and part-time students. Estimated organization: - A four-hour seminar 16:45-20:00 every two weeks - All seminars will be held in computer lab using MS Office Excel - Supplementary thematic excursion - The course ends before the credit week Expected content and questions that you learn to answer exactly: - Calculation of the optimal supplier of electric energy and gas, and choice of the best tariff (Is it worth to go to the "cheaper" suppliers? How much can I save?) - Calculation of investment in efficient lighting (Is it worth to buy expensive energy-saving lamps? When will it return to me?) Calculation of investment in decentralized power sources (photovoltaic, hydroelectric power station, etc.) (How to solve the power supply for the cottage secluded in the woods?) - Calculation of a suitable heat source for heating and water heating (How to choose a heat source? How much can I save?) - Calculation and optimization of building energy efficiency (How much energy does my building consume? How much does it cost? Is it worth to insulate the building? Or replace windows? How much will I save and when will my investments return?) - And more according to interest during the semester. Conditions for obtaining the credit: - Attendance/Activity - preparation and defense of your seminar work If you have any questions about the subject, do not hesitate to contact me.
