Course objectives
Aim of the course is to give an overview of principles of computer operating systems, computer networks and computer graphics. After the course, students are able to understand, set up and use operating systems and networks as well as to use ICT on advanced level. Excercises are focused on economic calculations in MS Excel and marketing material creation in MS Publisher.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction to operating systems
    2. Operating systems management (CPU, memory, file system and memory storage management)
    3. Introduction to computer networks
    4. Computer network architecture
    5. Computer network services and protocols
    6. Computer graphics (prnciples of pixel and vector graphics, color models, color usage)
    Excercises:
    1. Introduction to MS Excel (working with Lists and Sheets)
    2. Economic functions in MS Excel
    3. Graphs creation and customization
    4. Introduction to MS Publisher
    5. Graphical functions in MS Publisher
    6. Creation and customization of basic marketing material (business cards, flyers, posters)
